Mr. Apollo (アポロさん, Aporo-san) is one of the kissable Underground Residents located in Long Life Town, District 3.
His home hole is found in the bottom right corner of the empty lot where Main Girl resides.
Profile and Appearance[]
Mr. Apollo is a brown-skinned and rather thin old man; he has white fuzzy eyebrows and a bushy beard denoting his age. He wears a white loincloth and a miniature rocket ship on his head, cushioned by what appear to be green leaves. The rocket is black and white and has the letters "USO" printed on the side. Attached to his backside is an orange umbilical tower, typically seen holding rockets at a launch pad. He is usually seen sitting with his legs crossed and arms together, as if in a constant state of meditation.
Peering into the hole while Mr. Apollo is home will pan down to reveal him facing a wall in a meditative pose. On his walls are a scroll that says "Keep Going" and a diagram of a rocket ship. Next to Mr. Apollo is a small table with a blue globe of the Earth on top of it.
His profile below varies depending on the time Poor Boy peers down into the hole. The seconds mentioned are a countdown to Mr. Apollo's launch at 1:00 PM every day.
- 3-4 Long Life Town
- Mr. Apollo’s life…
- Age 59
- Hobby: Orbiting
- The saying of the day is…
- T minus [x] seconds…
How to Kiss[]
At 1:00PM, Mr. Apollo will come out and meditate. As a countdown begins, he will launch into orbit and attempt to land back in the empty lot. At 2:55PM, he will return to his home.
Behavior and Viva Conditions[]
Attempting to kiss Mr. Apollo anytime before Viva will cause him to headbutt Poor Boy for 2 Hearts worth of damage. Poor Boy will have to wait for Mr. Apollo's launch to complete. At 1:25 PM, he will fly up into the sky, leaving Poor Boy's view for a moment, then will come back down around 1:40 PM. If Mr. Apollo lands on his feet, the landing will have been successful and he will Viva. If he instead lands on his head, the landing will be a failure and he will remain angry until he goes back home at 2:55 PM. Whether his landing is successful or not depends on Poor Boy's location; standing directly in front of his shadow as he begins to land will consistently make his launch successful.
Trivia[]
- Mr. Apollo's rocket motif appears to be a reference to the Apollo 11, the first spaceflight to land humans on the moon in 1969. The black and white rocket on his head and his picture (showing himself having landed on the moon) in the photo album are evidence of this.
