20-year-old Guy (バイト20才, ”20-year-old Part-timer”) is one of the kissable Underground Residents located in Scarecrow Field.

His home hole is found between the stairs and the garbage dump at the opposite end of the path leading to the train station.

Profile and Appearance[]

He is a sickly pale-purple-skinned and short, brown-haired young man who wears a neutral sweater, green pants, and red shoes. He clutches a clicker in his right hand and sits on a yellow folding chair.

Peering into the hole while 20-year-old Guy is home will pan down to reveal him sitting in his folding chair, facing away from the camera. On his home's floor is a plain white mat and a rock with markings on them.

His profile reads as such:

1-1 Scarecrow Field
20-year-old-guy's life…
Age 20
Hobby: Mahjong
The saying of the day is…
正正正正正 .....

How to Kiss[]

At 9:00 AM, 20-year-old Guy will come out and lumber past the stairs to sit on the edge of the path outside his home.

Behavior and Viva Conditions[]

If Poor Boy angers 20-year-old Guy by running past his line of sight, the area gets dark and the camera zooms in on him. He chuckles darkly, which makes Poor Boy turn around in fear and lose 10 Hearts. Interacting with him directly will have him react the same way, but he will turn his chair to face Poor Boy and chuckle without the dramatic zoom-in.

Carefully sneaking pass his line of sight causes him to hold up his clicker and press it. Walking far enough away will cause him to be angry again; he will click every time Poor Boy sneaks past him. Once his count reaches fifty, he will Viva and Poor Boy can kiss him. The number of times he counts carries over to the next day, so there's no need to worry about doing it all at once.

Trivia[]

  • 20-year-old guy's saying appears to have been left untranslated. The 5-stroke kanji, "正", (commonly read as "sei" in this case) is used as a tally mark in Japanese culture. This explains why the kanji also appears to be written over and over on the rock in his home. The tally marks that appear in his saying show you how many times he's clicked his clicker.
  • On the official Marvelous Inc. website for Chulip, the blurb about 20-year-old Guy has this to say: "数を数えるバイト中の少年。この暗さでは、ほかのバイトはないでしょう・・・". Roughly translated, "A boy who keeps count as a part-time job. Though being this gloomy, there would be no other job available for him...".
  • In Japan, traffic survey is a rather popular part-time job where workers sit on the sides in folding chairs at store entrances or ends of intersections to count the total number of passersby and/or cars in certain areas. It's known for paying rather well for how easy it is.
